We are expanding!

Thanks to funds from the Minnesota Pollution and Control Agency, we are able to open a 3rd location. This location will be in St. Paul, located inside the Progressive Baptist Church at 1505 Burns Ave. We are working hard on getting toys inventoried and beginning to move things in. We will have a grand opening on Tuesday, August 20th. Come and check out the new space, become a member, and celebrate with us as we bring reuse and toy lending to St. Paul!

Hi, I’m Erika! I’m the owner of Baby Gear Group Twin Cities and mom to a chatty, snuggly two-year-old.
Baby Gear Group is a locally owned baby gear library with the mission of making the search for the right
baby gear cheaper, more sustainable, and overall less stressful.

How did you get the idea for this business?
We’ve been members of the Minneapolis Toy Library for about a year now. I’ve loved the freedom to
swap out toys based on my little one’s changing interests and skill development without spending
money constantly or having to store bins of toys currently out of favor.
Baby gear items are sometimes bulky and often only useful for a few months of a baby’s life (looking at
you, activity center). I was looking for ways to help more families access what they need when they
need it without wasting so much space and money—since I couldn’t find one, I brought Baby Gear
Group to the Twin Cities!

What are the membership options?
We offer Mini, Basic, and More membership plans that get you access to 5, 10, or 15 items at a time, but
flexibility is the name of the game! We also offer a la carte rentals if you want to try out just one thing
before you buy it or if you’d like to take an item like a SlumberPod on a trip. Comprehensive plans could
replace the majority of a baby registry and would be customized for you. We also offer special plans for
parents of twins and triplets—no more purchasing 3 of everything if you’ll never use it all again.

The coolest feature of Baby Gear Group is our Save 50%+ Guarantee, which means you’ll save 50% or
more off retail on all the gear you use in a membership.

We are moms here to serve fellow parents, so we designed the service as we would want to use it.
There’s no such thing as forgetting to cancel or overpaying on rentals, and no stressful due dates.

What if I already own a lot of baby gear or was planning to get a lot from baby showers?
If you’d like to trade in something you already have, we’ll apply credit to a membership to get you
access to the things your little one needs next. Otherwise we’re here to help with short term needs such
as trips or out-of-town guests!

We also offer gift cards which make great baby shower gifts. Instead of buying you a set number of
things, your friends and family could buy you access to everything you need for the first year. Plus,
there’s no buyer’s remorse over that expensive luxury bassinet that your infant steadfastly refused to
sleep in.

Where do you keep the gear?
The idea behind community sharing is that gear serves families as much of the time as possible, instead
of sitting in storage. We source items on demand for our members if we don’t have them on hand.

Memberships include delivery to your home, or pickup at a partner organization like the Minneapolis
Toy Library is always an option too!

What are your favorite baby gear items?

I would swear our SlumberPod was the only thing that kept everyone sleeping well on our cross-country
road trip–for us it’s the ultimate hack for room sharing with a toddler. We also love the Keekaroo Height
Right Chair because the seat and foot plate are adjustable like the Stokke Tripp Trapp, plus he can climb
in and out on his own now. In the newborn days I loved the Snuggle Me Organic lounger for a safe spot
to set him down for a moment. Everyone has different needs and preferences, but these items have
been great for us!
